Re: Arcade: Marta and Flash
Marta was stuck somewhere between completely falling apart and pretending everything was alright. She'd made the effort (small though it was) with her appearance, and had told herself that she was going to "behave" as much as she could during this meeting with her brother. She wasn't completely oblivious to the fact that since she'd shown back up in her brother's life that she'd brought very little other than problems for him to deal with. She also wasn't completely oblivious that years had gone by (even with the coma) where he hadn't tried to find her. As far as she knew. And with him insisting that they could find Seven with very little problem, he'd certainly made it seem as if he could find people if he wanted to.
Yeah.
So one plus two was bringing her to three, especially with a night at the party that just underlined three a few more times for her. And while the thought of going back to a life without her brother made her stomach turn, if he needed that in order to get back to where he'd been before she'd returned to Repose (which sounded pretty good once you got past the whole coma thing), then she knew what would be best for both of them. Because she was pretty certain that knowing he was doing better would help her feel at least a little better herself. If nothing else, she'd know that she wasn't making it worse for him. She'd been working all of that out in her head in between everything else that had been happening, and she thought she finally had it in her to address the situation.
So. An arcade with her brother. She could do it. Her hand was almost to the door when she heard the shout, and she turned sharply, blinking blank for a moment before the smile spread across her face. It wasn't as big as some of her smiles used to be, but it was real when she saw him. "Hey!" She waited for him outside the door and actually laughed a little at his excitement. It instantly threw her back a few years, and a random memory popped into her head. "As long as it's not that haunted or disappearing one or whatever it was. I remember you talking about it..."
