Re: quicklog: flash/gwen at the beach
[Gwen was kind of totally lacking in social skills too. She got most of her relationship advice from MJ, but she wasn't anything like the other girl, and so some of the advice didn't fit very well given her own lack of va-va-voom. But he wrapped his arms around her, and she thought maybe she hadn't gotten it all wrong.
And it felt totally nice, just lying beside him, and she smiled with real interest when he said he had some kind of firework that would knock her on her ass.] It's going to take a lot to knock me on my ass, Flash Madison. [She watched the vial as he pretended to shake it, and she tried to grab for it playfully, without really trying to grab for it at all. He made a hole for the vial in the ground, and she made a little sound of triumph, and his smirk did something to her insides that she knew was entirely founded in blood circulation and endorphin. It was amazing, even if she knew it was a physiological response to aid in reproduction.]
I like how that sounds. They say it on television shows, and I don't think I ever really understood that it felt like something more than biological imperative. I don't think the feeling is something that can be defined, not scientifically. [Which was a big statement for her, and she sat up and crossed her legs, her attention only partly on the vial he'd buried in the sand.] Hey. Can I ask you something? Don't worry. It's totally not a quiz, and you won't be graded after.
