She blinked, and it was filled with surprise and a little bit of shock. And maybe even some hurt lingering around the edges. "Oh." She was quiet as she looked down into her half-full glass. She didn't lash out or push back, but the smile had definitely faded from her face. "Right." She took a breath, and then the smile was back as she looked up again. It was the same around her mouth, just as wide and easy, but there was just a little less lightness in her eyes. "That is very good advice. I'll do that from now on." The same smile, but the next drink from her glass was more than just a sip.
"Well, you and me both." Her tone had recovered from that momentary valley (even if the light in her eyes hadn't quite), and as she crossed her legs on the stool and gave all her attention to him, it was like nothing had happened to momentarily derail her. "So why'd you come tonight, then?"
