Re: quicklog: steph/eddie apartment
[She chuckled quietly, her fingers winding into the expensive fabric of his suit jacket.] No, I'm not gonna stab you with the Pit. I think we've had enough of that shit for a couple of lifetimes, don't you? [That green glowing goop had been the best and worst thing to happen to the both of them. It brought them together; it tore them apart. Her blues didn't leave scare away from the intensity. She reveled in it, honestly. Stephanie knew that so few people got to unlock this man in her arms and see him. Not the parade of masks and glowing rose colored glasses that he hid behind. It took her a long time to chip away and dig behind them, and a part of her knew that she would always have her place there. No matter what happened between the two of them, no one understood Eddie and Steph better than each other.
She hummed, leaning into his touch, blinking away happiness and cheeks going red. She felt warm. She felt comfortable. For the first time in a long, long time, she felt like she was on even ground. She too closed her eyes when their foreheads pressed together, and sighing, stepped closer. Closing some more distance between them until it was little more than a fingertip's length before they were pressed against each other. She looked up.] I feel more like myself in the last couple of months than I have in a long time. [With clarity, conviction:] I need you, too. I've always needed you. And I'm always going to be yours, too. Always.
[Being in Eddie's arms woke up bits in her bones that she had forgotten existed. Stephanie never realized how much she ached for him all these years until she had him once again. One hand slid to his front and lightly tugged on his tie.] I'm so much stronger when you're here with me. When we're a team. [And then, she laughed again.] I hear you and Sasha have a bet running. Who wins? [And then she shook her head and slid her other hand around. Both hands ran up his chest in tandem until she wrapped her arms around his neck. He could feel the slightest rapidity of her heart rate as her wrist pressed against his skin. The blues twinkled. All she wanted to do was kiss him, but she took the moment to just stare in his eyes, quiet and like she was absorbing him whole. She used to do this in the early years before calamity ruined their lives. Take these handful of seconds and just stare. God, she loved him. In the plummet of her stomach as he was around, in the way his breath alone made her dizzy, in the feeling of electricity that ran up her spine when he was close. She just knew. It was like awakening from a deep slumber, like Eddie said.] We were both sleeping beauties, and now we're awake. [She laughed louder, ducking away.] What a fucking weird ass thing to say.
