Re: quicklog: steph/eddie apartment
[As he spoke, Steph found herself moving closer, stepping into his space. Drawn to him and his magnetic cadence and the smile that spread across his face. The ache in her back melted away, but the tender ache in her chest and stomach just spread. No healing paper could take that away from her. It was a good ache. When he opened his eyes, her blues were locked to his browns. She was closer than before. She was smiling. Her cheeks tinged pink.] Eddie. [Her voice was soft, and she reached out to touch his face. She fell quiet for a moment, and then she grabbed his hands to wrap them around her waist. Her body close enough to his that she could feel the heat from his chest and smell that cologne that drove her crazy. Her heart hammered in her throat.]
It doesn't make me sad anymore either. Just makes me realize that we can get probably get through anything, right? [She touched his face again before wrapping her arms around his back.] That maybe we were right about being each other's soulmates. [She wanted to kiss him right then and there. She wanted to do so many things, say so many things. But in the end, she bucked the fuck up and just said the three words that encompassed it all:] I love you. [It wasn't the booze, or the fatigue. She'd wanted to tell him since they met in that dingy bar back in Jersey, since they looked at each other for a long moment before saving those kids from the Skull, since she pulled herself up on that counter in his arcade.] I never stopped loving you. [And then, she laughed quietly, fingers digging slightly into his back as she glanced away.] It's a lot less dramatic than the last time, isn't it?
