So many words. Words that were too fast.
She'd edged behind the tree that she'd only been touching before, putting it between herself and the golden hair when he stumbled to a halt. Even with the thick trunk between them, blocking all view of her other than shoulders and head, she still leaned back just a little, eyes wide and dark as she stared silently at him. He smiled before all those words came, and he looked... friendly? Not quite harmless, because he had height and width on her, and she already knew he could move swiftly. But his hands lifted, no weapon that she could see, and he didn't inch forward any further once he'd stopped.
Words. She blinked at him, picked a name out of the tumble of sounds, and then he pointed back the way he'd come. Toward the lookout. Yes. She knew the lookout. Knew that it belonged to him - or he to it. And then he went quiet. Oh, a response... She nodded, though it was more a bob of her head than a lift-lower of her chin.
