Re: Home: Iris and Manning
She couldn't choose between the two options he gave, because each of them sounded awful. She couldn't imagine having to deliberately put someone through either - to have to decide that. She was glad to be distracted by the thought of having to shove rolls into his mouth to keep him from telling TJ about the pregnancy... the baby. She huffed out a breath against the hollow of his throat, laughing quietly at the mental image of him stuffed with rolls like a chipmunk with full cheeks. "I want her to know. We can tell her tonight." Her admission was just as quiet as her amused breath. "And you know everyone else will know for sure once she does." She thought of the little girl excitedly telling everyone that she was going to be a big sister, and that sort of announcement didn't bother her.
She thought of the way Manning put it and realized he was right. She was angry. She'd been accepting that being in a small town meant that everyone knew everyone else's business, but she still wanted some sort of control of the level of privacy she had. If the rumors had come from people gossiping that she was looking a little heavier or if it was just speculation... she didn't feel like that would be bothering her as much. Her teeth clenched for a moment, and she felt guilty at the next words that came out, tense and low as she frowned. "I think I'm pissed at Sam."
