Home: Iris and Manning
The bakery belonged to Iris now - and he was proud of her. Proud ot see her fight for something she wanted, proud to see her stand up to the absentee owner that would come rolling into town to make demands only and then leave, content to ignore the bakery as long as its profits lined his pockets. Now it was hers, to do with what she wished.
Would it be too much? Manning didn't really worry about that. Either it would be fine or they'd work it until it was and it was really all the same in the end. He wasn't even worried when he heard about the bakery being closed that day - she deserved a day off. A few days even, if she wanted them. But, he knew where to find her when he had a lull in the middle of the day. And, with the knowledge that soon their house would be much busier - even if she hadn't confirmed it yet - he let TJ stay at daycare and headed home to see Iris.
It was quiet inside the house. No Iris in the kitchen tho, or out back on the patio - and no dogs either. He took the stairs quietly, stripping out of his plaid over shirt as he went up and shuffling out of his boots at the top landing. A peek into the bedroom confirmed it, both dogs curled up around her. He smiled, lips of his mouth curling upwards as he came in and eased onto the bed, one hand going out to her hip. "Hey," soft, quiet, enough to let her know that it was him as he molded his body against her back.
