Adam shook his head. "The story isn't worth telling." He glanced back across the bar, then frowned at Ethan, that was his name. "Do you have one about him?" he asked, because she might. She might know all about him and be able to tell Adam not to worry or just head back the way he came.
"Unless you have something else you want to tell me," he tacked on, because listening to someone else talk was much better than sitting alone at a bar wondering how drunk he'd have to be to do something other than stare.
