Re: Outside: Clementine & Rudy
That was the point. She buzzed protective, stung the same, and she was willing to die for it, stinger and her gone. But most folks, they just got the buzzing. Clementine, she didn't go after folks bloodthirsty, though it seemed like it a whole lot sometimes. But that wasn't looking right, not that she expected someone she'd just met to understand it any. Understanding her, that wasn't something she expected from anyone. No one had understood her, not since Lore, and that was a whole long way gone.
She smiled something quiet when he went all stiff, as if making an impact was the most important thing. She wasn't sure when that'd become the case, and sure as could be that she didn't understand why it was the case. But it made her feel real somehow, out here in this middle of nowhere special.
"Ain't no one taught you how to lie polite?" She didn't wait for him to answer any. "Where I come from, lying polite's part of living. It's just like breathing, when you come from a place where no one says a thing that's true, on account of being real genteel."
She walked in, oblivious to Michael sitting on over in the corner, least for now. "You go on and get me a bourbon, sugar."
