Re: steph/eddie -- arcade.
We're at the top of my hope for happiness list, too. [Eddie smiled and leaned forward to clink his cup against her glass. Still, Cat deserved every bit of happiness she could get out of life. She hadn't had it easy, either, and at the end of the day there was only so much Eddie could do to help. He was the only constant in her life, but he wasn't necessarily the constant she needed. She was the same for him. He remembered a time when friendship was the most valuable thing two thieves could have, but then they both grew up a little. Got old.
Eddie chuckled as Stephanie rolled her eyes.] All this for not a seizure? [It was his turn to roll his eyes and he took another bite of his burger, chewing thoughtfully.] Relying on Bruce to be your emotional rock is a bad call, but she is her father's daughter. [Bruce always had his own way of doing things and it took a great amount of convincing to get him to go a different direction. Eddie saw the same impulses in his daughter quickly and while he had affection for it, he barely had the patience anymore.] Bruce hasn't spoken a word to me about any of it. I messaged him- nothing. It's like pulling teeth. [Eddie tried not to be frustrated by a man who reverted back to his old tendencies before he died. He missed the Bruce that had finally opened up to him and Eddie wondered if he had the patience to do that quest all over again.
But, back to Stephanie.] At least you all worked together towards a common goal? That's got to be a start. A tiny one.
