Re: Gwen/Felicity/Marta
[The tower was most unhelpful. Gwen had familiarized herself with the technology before Felicity even arrived, and she'd figured out that the island wasn't rigged to transmit to the shore. She assumed it was because of the island's military use, and she reasoned there might be something with a longer range on the old base (which left that as their best option if they needed to leave immediately). But she didn't know if they did need to leave immediately. It was still worth investigating the possibility, however, which was what Gwen was going to tell Felicity when she arrived.
She climbed down from the tower, radio tucked in her messenger bag, and what she saw when she jumped down was totally not what she expected. In place of a big field with a fence at the end, there was a track field. It was new, and the sun was high, and it wasn't dark at all. There was a track team running laps, and she didn't recognize the high school they'd all attended (which was visible in the background). Okay, that was super weird, but the goal hadn't changed. She crossed the track field, knowing the fence was (really) in that direction, and assuming she could meet Felicity there.]
