Re: [Gunster Dinner]
Adrian canted his head. To be a 'probably brother' was better than being no one's brother, he thought. Was it worth getting it confirmed, if it was seriously still in doubt? He might pursue that privately, a thought for a later date. That Connie had seen between moments in time definitely felt more worthy of delving into just now. "How did that happen?" he asked. "Your work now? Or Webster's work when we were kids?" He almost stumbled over the name. He still didn't know what to call the man, his probably-father. Dad didn't really fit the bill, nor did 'Mr. Gunster.' They called him Webster, so he followed suit. It was nicely neutral, he thought.
"Dangerous experimentation with the laws of nature obviously runs in the family," he said. It was intended, for what it was worth, as a joke. He listened to Patrick's thoughts about the forest, about things you couldn't leave behind. His eyes flickered with some passing thought, perhaps a private joke. "Passion," he said. "That runs in the family too."
