Re: [Gunster Dinner]
There wasn't anything inappropriate. Patrick just liked to absent himself and let the nerds nerd out sometimes, man. There was a thing about the Gunster abode, at least since Con had taken over, and that was it being a laid-back kind of joint. But he didn't hide in the kitchen. He poked his head into the fridge, closed it, opened it again, the perfect personification of a kid in a grown dude's body. In the end, he grabbed an apple, and he walked back into the living room while taking a bite.
Of course, if he'd known Con was in the middle of a Webster spiel, Patrick would've dragged his long legs more than he did. But too late for that. He dropped back into his chair, and he took another loud, crunching bite of his apple.
"He still did it. Even knowing all that about how messing with it was dangerous, he still did it." He pointed his apple at Connie. "She does it too." The hypocrite smiled and took another bite of his apple. "My man, my dude," this was to Adrian, "some people can't help playing with fire. Me, give me a forest any day. If you told me the forest was dangerous or messed up, I'd still go back." He picked up another beer, popped it open, and he smiled a little-boy's smile at his sis. "Some shit you just can't stay away from." He sipped.
