"Between time." Connie opted to drink more beer because the next part about time travel was even weirder than the first. She considered that maybe next time she told someone, she'd lead off with this part because it made the idea of time travel seem like someone science could actually do. This part? This part made her doubt that it was only science a long time ago. It made her think there was something else. Magic, or god or the universe that didn't like too be messed with.
"You see, dear probably brother of mine." Connie said in a really good Webster impression, save for the flicker of her eyelashes. "Time travel isn't just nearly impossible, it seems that the universe or the simple rule of physics don't appreciate it. If you do it enough, you can go crazy or get caught somewhere that you can't continue messing with time." She leaned back in her chair and looked at Patrick. "I've seen moments between moments. Places and time that don't exist. That's where dear-old-dad is unless he's dead."
