Re: [flash/gwen at the facility]
"He can. I mean, he could even give her a lecture if he wanted to, but I don't want her to get too attached to him and vice versa. There's a possibility of Reaper deciding he likes her better and she'd be a lot easier to control than I am." Reaper was loyal to Flash, but he also wasn't human. His instincts told him to take control of something that worked with his sense of justice and would be willing to do what he believed was right. Flash had always been a good partner, but Flash wasn't an idiot. He knew Reaper might grow to feel more loyal to Marta and that would be the worst fucking thing that could happen.
He grunted because it was kind of impossible to help people that didn't want help. Flash had lived his whole life knowing people like that and seeing them crumble before his eyes. All he could do was try and hope it would work. Right now all the could do was keep talking about it. But, he didn't really want to. She was warm against him, unmoving and unafraid of everything that he was going through. Gwen stuck by him and Flash needed that.
Flash kissed her back, running his fingers through her hair and pulling her close to him. She gave him an instant buzz, like chugging a can of beer and smashing it on his forehead. His heart was tied up in tense, anxious knots, but she managed to untie a few of them. Flash lost himself for a second, forgetting where he was and deepening the kiss like they were alone in her old room instead of near the microwave and refrigerator at work.
He leaned back enough to talk, looking up at her seagreen eyes and feeling pretty fucking good for once. "Wanna go find a closet to make out in?" Gwen liked numbers, right? So, Flash was about 34% joking on the offer. Maybe even as low as 27%. "Or you want the tour?"
