[flash/gwen at the facility]
Gwen was super nervous. She'd been nervous since that morning, when she'd arrived at the lab to officially receive her first assignment. There were reports of some people living in caves a few counties over, and the reports seemed to indicate that these people referred to themselves of being comprised of stars. That wasn't anything super impressive (seeing as humans were approximately 93% stardust), but there were reports of these people being able to manipulate matter, and that was super impressive. It was an interesting first assignment for a girl who'd never really done anything scientific in practice, but she'd scored better than any of the existing scientists on the slew of exams they'd given her, and these "star people" weren't doing anything dangerous. She assumed (likely correctly) that this was totally a test of her ability to extract irrefutable data from samples, and Gwen loved tests.
But, even with the super interesting morning's worth of information, she was still nervous about seeing Flash. She'd seen him briefly (like a few minutes, briefly) after Halloween and during the League escape, but they hadn't been alone for a super long time.
She made her way to the break room (after denying her desire to totally show up early) wearing a dinosaur and rain boots over gray, woolen socks. Her skirt was denim and short, and she arrived while Flash was scowling. Even in profile, she could totally tell he was tense and unhappy. And it was super interesting, because that scowl was enough to refocus her. She went from being super nervous to super concerned, and she immediately assumed his conversation with his sister had gone poorly.
She walked up behind him in the pastel room, and she tapped him on the shoulder. "Hi."
