Flash was chilling in the break room like he promised. Dude was doing his best "I'm not worried about shit" impression. It wasn't that convincing. He'd think about trying to find his sister a shrink, how she probably wouldn't fucking go to sessions, how much it would cost him and if she'd just bail and suddenly his brow was furrowed and his whole body was tense. He'd realize he was looking like something was wrong, so he'd pull out his phone, read something funny about MMA gossip or some shit and then relax before the cycle started all over again.
There were a few other people in the break room, but they all stayed clear of Flash. This wasn't anything new. The only Aegis people who were really comfortable with him were the scientists who worked on Reaper and even they didn't really seem to like having him around. It wasn't that Flash was a dick or anything, he seemed dangerous. Anyone who could pilot something like the Reaper suit would have a weird reputation following them around. It didn't help that he didn't really fit into any group category besides solider and lately Aegis was feeling more like a spy agency than anything else.
But, whatever. There was Flash sitting at one of the round tables in the break room that was a little bigger than Gwen's old one bedroom apartment. The florescent lights flickered from above as the microwave spun a bag of popcorn that Flash just put in. Everything in the break room was pastel, from the pink floor tiles to the green counter top. The chairs were plastic and made to be uncomfortable to get people back to work and the refrigerator always looked like someone was doing a science project in it. Flash had never been in a real life office, but he figured this looked like it was transplanted out of some paper company into a super spy facility. Like if you walked out of the break room, you'd see a bunch of cubicles and "hang in there" posters.
