Re: Diner Escape: Gwen, Flash (+Jason & The League NPCs)
Gwen was fast, faster than he'd given her credit for. The syringe came out of nowhere, and actually earned her a little grin under the hood. He took his knife back and took a step away, letting the man fall on his own. Technically, yeah, killing the guy would be safer, but they'd know Gwen was out in the next ten minutes regardless.
"You okay?" he asked, to her and to Flash. She looked basically unharmed, but Flash didn't sound so hot. Jason didn't have a clue how the suit was supposed to work, or even a full understanding of what it did, but he knew that if Flash needed to get back to the Facility it was probably bad news. "You got it," he said, but he was looking at Gwen. Leaving her, even with the plan in place, felt all wrong. Letting her run headlong into a netherworld with a monster in it felt even worse.
Gwen whipped up a storm of words, which was typical. There was no room to argue, and it was too late for it anyway. He wasn't going to chase her down and drag her back. "I know. I don't like it, but we agreed. You need to go." But it was kind of endearing that she was ready to knock him out with a syringe, sort of.
He was ready to turn away when she pressed up and kissed him on the cheek. His skin was cold from the whipping wind, and he looked at her for a moment, half-there, half-not, still buzzing with adrenaline. Fuzzed from the drugs his brain was pumping out, her kiss put him somewhere else entirely, another place, a couple years back. He hesitated, and then he turned away. He had Flash's coordinates. Time to pick him up.
