Re: Diner Escape: Gwen, Flash (+Jason & The League NPCs)
Gwen was comfortable enough with Reaper at this point that she didn't feel weird about the way he was talking. She knew it was more Reaper than Flash, and that totally didn't surprise her (given the circumstances). She knew neither of them would let anything happen to her (not if they could help it), and she knew the same was true of Jason. She had faith in all of them, and she was way determined to bring what she could to this endeavor. And Reaper's gel arms closing around her in that hug (and the accompanying kiss) totally helped, even it felt a little strange.
She tucked the earpiece in her ear, and she didn't require explanation to understand why he'd given it to her. She turned the earpiece on, and she listened to the conversation about advantages without interruption. She also didn't hesitate when Reaper said to go. She had just stepped outside when the car skidded, and she was running before that Go! was uttered. She didn't look to see who was there, what they were doing, or what the return volley would be. If they were going through this to get her out, the least she could do was keep moving and not make it more challenging.
Jason had implied there was more than one pursuant in one car, and Gwen made for the thick trees. She went a little further east than originally intended, but the growth was thicker and more narrow there. They would totally have trouble getting a car into the space, and she reasoned Reaper and Hood would have a better chance if the League-men were on foot.
She wasn't thinking like at all, which helped her enhanced senses. There was a thin clump of trees over there, and she totally ran for them, and then she zigged left toward that tiny bit of slushy water, where it would be harder to follow her trail as she ran along it, then zagged right and past a fallen tree that would slow anyone down by being fat and round (and hard to climb over).
She listened as she moved, offering up directional markers when she changed course (and in an effort to keep them from being distracted by worrying about where she was).
