Penny smirked as if she was just waiting for Edith to go ahead and spill the beans on why it mattered if she had a little peek at her cards. She just squirmed a bit. And Penny laughed. "You see Clementine, we got us a superstitious bunch," she said with a twinkle in her eye. "Half this town thinks I'm bad luck and the other half thinks I'm just plain creepy, and if there was a third half they'd think I was just plain weird," she said plenty pleased with that assessment. It wasn't easy running around with dead people for the day job.
"I can't tell if its because I got here from New York and the big city life scared them, or if I showed up here intentionally to take a job looking at the insides of dead people that makes them uneasy," she looked over at Edith who was engrossed in whatever weird bingo rituals she had going on to ignore the two of them.
