Re: Crust & Crumb - Bruce / Iris
His statement only earned a slight nod of her head. More choices could be overwhelming. Could get an already weak mind twisted around on itself until a person didn't know which was was up and which things were right and which people were good. But that had nothing to do with bakery, so Iris smiled just a bit and looked at what she still had in the shop. "Well. If you're looking at sweet, today there's blueberry muffins and chocolate chip cookies. It's one of the less sweet days around here." The last was said with a bit of an apology.
But then she remembered the order for the circus, and the extra apple galette she'd made for herself. It was still sitting to the side in back, a clean towel draped over it to protect it while still keeping the crust crisp on top. She hesitated for just a moment before deciding that she could always make herself another (but knowing that she likely wouldn't - not for a long while, at least). "I also have one apple galette left. It's like a rustic little apple pie..." She said it with no actual hesitation after that initial pause - just another offering for a customer.
