"It can be overwhelming." Not for him, necessarily, but for some. However, the more choices one was presented with the higher the risk the wrong option may be chosen—in matters of baked goods, it was never life or death. That wasn't always the case. Bruce wondered, idly, if this woman had ever been faced with life or death. She appeared the quiet, unassuming type, but appearances could be deceiving. Didn't he know that better than most?
He listened to her answer, and there was nothing in his gaze indicating that he was elsewhere, that he'd asked for any reason but for a genuine response. "Ah." He nodded. "Sweet, then. I haven't had a treat in quite some time. Do you have any recommendations?"
