What exactly he was looking for, Bruce wasn't entirely certain. There was nothing specific. The sound of the bell registered as everything did, even the quietest of sounds—instinct, now—but he didn't pay it much attention. Here, he had no need to hide. He wasn't a shadow. (Ha.) He pondered his own hunger, his preferences, and was beginning to lean toward the blueberry muffins. Not literally, of course, he stood straight as though his spine was made of steel.
If he noticed the woman staring, it wasn't apparent. After a few seconds he lifted his gaze and smiled, politely. "Hello." A small laugh. "I'm trying to decide."
