His smile said he wasn't entirely sure that it must have been meant for him, but Bruce wasn't in the mood to argue. Or, even, to disagree. Perhaps returning from the dead had mellowed him—for the time being, at least. The smile was all there was. "Thank you." He waited, patient, observing her back—which gave away little, though his gaze had sharpened into something scrutinizing while she couldn't see—as she packed up the galette.
It was a near unconscious thing, moving in the same direction as she walked back, to the register, a strange sort of fluidity in his movements that he really needed to be more careful of; it was how the Shadow moved, not how Bruce should have. There was a silence as he reached for his wallet, one that didn't bother him much, as he didn't think one needed to speak while paying.
"I'm Bruce." The words didn't come until the transaction was finished. "Thank you again." There was no expectation that she would give her own name in return, and he didn't ask. Sometimes he liked to see what people would do if given the choice.
