Blueberry muffins and chocolate chip cookies sounded fine to him. In this particular instance, Bruce wasn't picky. And, too, he thought they seemed sweet enough—maybe he just didn't know sweet. He didn't often indulge in that kind of thing. He was about to ask for one of each—might as well treat himself, being back from the dead and all—an inhale, preparation before words, but then the woman mentioned the apple galette and his lips pursed thoughtfully.
It sounded different. He thought different might be nice. "Alright." He paused, having noticed the brief hesitation. "Unless it's meant for... someone else."
