Re: Capital Rooftops: Cat & Sasha
That applause? It was music over the rush of wind, and Sasha did what any self-respecting woman would do in this situation. She took a bow. Except she was running at the time. That whole perfect show was then punctuated with her stumbling over her own feet. "Woaah!" Hands flung out to her sides, flapping wildly so she could keep her balance. Sasha didn't fall, but her ego took a pretty solid tumble at the cartoonish display. Fine. Fine. No more showing off. Just the run.
Technically? After those last few jumps? Cat's foot hit the roof first, but Sasha was willing to call it a tie. Mostly because drunk men could not be trusted to treat a bathroom with the proper respect. Seriously, guys. Aim. Maybe some sort of booby trap was in order. Now Sasha didn't know how to make said booby trap, or what it would consist of, but she was very sure that it would absolutely work if it was a thing that could happen. But it wasn't, so cleaning it had to be. Gross.
"Someone has to keep you guys on your toes." Sasha grinned, the run having gotten the better of her by now, as she huffed and puffed bent over to try and catch her breath. "And Eddie's idea to settle me down is to get me to date someone that hangs out at the library. So, yeah. No. I've still got a few good years left in me." Teasing implication that Cat and Eddie were just too old? Absolutely. Even as she was trying to catch her breath. Sasha was terribly behind in her cardio. Hell, Cat didn't even look like she had broken a sweat.
"Or at least one more big job. Just one." Because there was no hiding that thought at all from Cat. The problem was finding out the right target in a city where she had no contacts. Intel wasn't easy to come by. It would require a lot of smaller trips into the city. Casing. A plan. And to do properly? A team. Which honestly was the worst part. But the extra people meant a bigger scheme, which equaled a bigger payday. Thousands versus millions. "You know, the fabled one that doesn't exist? I could settle down after that." But even those words rang with a hint of doubt. Sasha wasn't sure if settling down was for people like her. And honestly, she was more than okay with that. Not so okay with that look Cat was giving her, like she already knew everything Sasha was thinking.
