Re: Dream: Janus/Atticus
"Like understanding things. More complicated, the better. Might have noticed that I'm a lazy sloth of a man. But like my books. Like letters. Like quiet things that I can examine over and over, at my leisure, until I understand every facet. Don't think you can ever understand anyone entirely, but interesting to try. You're interesting." Simple. Atticus was a plainspoken man. Was a lazily spoken man, but a plainspoken one too. Wasn't playing a game. Was trying to figure the puzzle out from pieces. Knew many pieces were missing. Only made it more challenging to learn what the whole picture was. Most men, for example, wouldn't fluidly change into a female. Even to be annoying.
"You're going to tell me why you came." Not a question.
Wait for it. Wait for it.
The hand on his cheek was decidedly female. Made him think of PJ. Of Connie. "Told you." He smiled that lazy smile, lips cracked and too pale, but it was still a grin of the shit-eating variety. "My head's fine. Angry. Not insane. Still want to know more about you." It was a stubborn closing, one that came with smoke thinning.
"Appreciate the visit." The nothing began to thin.
