[Connie looked up at him, blue eyes on fire as though she'd burn through any lies he'd even consider telling her. They didn't do lying, they couldn't afford to growing up, but Patrick was starting to make his own way. Connie knew people lied to try and protect each other. She had done it once or twice herself. [She grinned when he talked about coddling and then reached behind her to pull up a stool.] I do get weird without you around to keep an eye on. I get even weirder if I don't have a little brother to prank all the time. [Connie nodded and tapped her fingers on the bar.] Okay, I approve! And, I agree, I agree. It took me forever to get started. I kept dad's stuff in the basement and the shed out back for so long and after seeing you I made my mind up that I couldn't keep waiting around anymore.
