Re: Log: The Cat - Cat/Matt
[Cat would argue that she was designed to run a crime family. After all, that was the plan. And then Rex ended up betrayed and behind bars, and he was still there to this day, at least to her knowledge. After all, shaming the biggest crime boss in town? Was a much better method of control than killing him. Martyrs tended to be very motivational in crime families. Men who couldn't stay out of prison? Who couldn't bribe or murder their way out? Not so much. And, these days, Cat had quite a bit of influence back home and in the Capital, and she would willingly admit that she liked coming back to this place, where it was quiet and she was just the eccentric woman that owned the tacky themed bar on the corner of Central and Main.
She watched him crouch in front of the safe, and she chuckled as realization crossed his features. It was an easily silence. Normally, she had music caressing the air, but tonight there was just silence and warmth. Inside, the chill from the rapidly cooling night was absent. She could think here, though focusing on one thing to think about? Wasn't quite so easy. But she knew what he wanted to talk about - Steve. It was always Steve with him, and Cat only wished she had answers. But she didn't.
He turned the dial, but nothing clicked, and the safe was a good one. Cat had yet to meet a safe she couldn't crack, and this one was equally flawed, but it would take someone very skilled to get in. And if they were that good? Well, they deserved whatever booty they found inside.
But he didn't have to break in. The dacha coordinates? Resulted in a click, and she chuckled and gave him a very slow, very elegant round of applause.]
