Re: Hospital: Jude & Oliver (+Misha)
Maybe his wanting to touch, be touched, to hold and be held… maybe it had a whole lot of everything to do with his experience at the party, but Oliver couldn't calculate the difference by any means of measure. Then and now. Before and now. He remembered Misha like a warm hug through past and present, and Oliver wasn't thinking about futures, no matter how nice the kissing got.
Oliver remembered feeling really alone at the party, even in the company of a stranger, but feeling alone wasn't exactly anything new. In fact, alone was usually the most comfortable that Oliver could be. He did alone a whole lot better than his brother did. So maybe it all came down to something simpler, maybe Oliver was just tired of being alone… all the time, anyway. Alone could still be good for some times. Most times, if he wanted it to be.
Oliver had Jude, and Jude was enough. Jude was the 'whole world' kind of enough, but their lives were different here. There was room to stretch, and Oliver wanted to stretch. Especially with the way that Misha looked at him, and touched his face, and kissed him just so. Misha did it slow, like there was all the time in the world, and maybe even after the world ended their would still be time for kissing. That was new, and Oliver wasn't real afraid of new. It was the old that got sharp in his stomach. Old wounds weren't ever really forgotten, but they could be buried for awhile.
"I like you just fine too," Oliver whispered while a nurse shuffled somewhere down the hall. His whispering didn't have anything to do with the nurse, it was more because the words were something just for the two of them. They'd been hidden away beside this vending machine for awhile now, and for once Oliver wished time would just hold up and stand still, but it didn't. "I gotta get back to Jude." His brother would always be the priority, and this, Oliver told himself, was just petty distraction… even if he was enjoying it with every sense he had.
"Jude won't let them take me anywhere. We'll sneak out. You should do the same. Maybe come by my house soon? We can do some drawing. You can bring your violin and play as loud as you want to, there's no neighbors.
Soon," Oliver conveyed again like it was written in stone, and he leaned in real quick to kiss Misha with a brief peck on the mouth before he got to his feet and rushed back in the direction from which they'd come, a fresh pack of stolen M&Ms in his hand.
