Re: hookerville: jack & destiny
[She smiled out of instinct, out of self preservation, out of the deep-rooted need to smile despite every reason to do the opposite. She smiled, and it was eyebrows just a bit up, dimples tucked in. It was the reflex smile. It wasn't Eris' wide laugh, it wasn't Snow's shy dimples. It wasn't even a smile, just a tried grin with too much hope in the eyes. She didn't know what she was asking of him, she didn't know that truth was a whole lot to ask really. Which was almost funny, with how conveniently she lied. But the truth was fun, fun enough to twist about on her velveteen couch and draw her feet onto the cushions. She coiled herself up tight and tilted her temple against the doily-draped headrest, watching. She liked the stories of others, a writer must have had a world of them.
She thought that she understood the want of this small town, the desire to not be successful. She'd dropped out of school, and she'd come back here, although she didn't believe the two events wholly related. She figured that it might have been terrifying, to just be successful.
I was married, and she swooned visibly like the biggest fairytale enthusiast. Grin and elbows on knees, wanting to know all of the sweetest details, although she didn't ask.]
Oh, January. Capricorn or Aquarius. Capricorn or Aquarius. [She inhaled, eyes rolling toward the ceiling while she considered, then concluded with sideways look.] From this point, you could be either. I'll need more info.
