Re: May's Cottage: May L / Gwen R
"Green tea is good for the human body," Gwen agreed easily, even eagerly. It was something simple, and it was something that she was sure of, and she kind of wasn't as sure of as many things lately as she needed to be in order to feel safe or good. Anyway, safety was totally an illusion, and that was the kind of thing that was hard to deny given present circumstances.
Gwen turned her mug as May spoke, and her seafoam gaze raised from the steaming liquid. What the woman said was fantastical, but Gwen was starting to accept that maybe fantastical stuff totally existed (though she held onto the belief that it all had scientific grounding, even if that grounding wasn't understood yet). She wasn't afraid of unanswered questions. Scientists totally adored unanswered questions.
Instead of immediately giving the woman (May) a verbal reply, Gwen pulled her messenger bag into her lap. She flipped open the flap, and she pulled out flower specimens from the recent unexplained psychological event. The flowers were carefully preserved and protected from the elements, mounted on glass that was ready for use under a microscope. She put the eight slides on the table between herself and the older woman. "I want to know how they work. I want to know if magic is real." Her voice said it was more 'need' than 'want,' but Gwen wasn't aware of that difference within herself yet.
