Re: May's Cottage: May L / Gwen R
Gwen was accustomed to a life that smelled of science labs. The scent of lavender was as foreign as some of the things on the grocery store shelves (though she was working her way through those, acquiring something new every payday). She sniffed the air with the curious interest of a small animal sensing something foreign, and she didn't have the experience to hide the reaction, despite said reaction going a long way to making her appear less than human. The way she tracked the strange woman's movement with her eyes didn't help, especially since Gwen was kind of inexpert and not turning her head when she did so.
The woman set down to mugs, and Gwen looked down into the one opposite the empty chair. She sniffed the green scent, and she cocked her head to the side, ever the curious little bird learning the world. "Is that tea?" Tea was also new, but (unlike lavender) she could successfully identify it.
Gwen didn't sit until she was told to, and then she pulled out the chair and sat with one leg tucked beneath her. The seafoam eyes that regarded the woman over the tea's steam were new, and the girl sitting there wasn't (strictly speaking) totally girl. "I didn't know I was looking for anything," she said truthfully. "Um... What kind of things do you do? That would help guide my response." She looked toward the door, and then she looked back at the woman. "Logic would indicate that it might be the flowers that drew me here, but I don't have any tangible proof that's the case, and I kind of don't want to start asking you questions without some verification that you have knowledge about them."
It was a bit of a ramble, and Gwen cupped her hands around the mug and looked down at the liquid within. "Green tea is super high in antioxidants."
