Re: quick: aaron & destiny
[Wasn't nothing to read in Destiny's face that she hadn't put in her voice and in her hands. Aaron could feel her pulse steady like salt in water, and the air in the truck was gonna be warmer and smell less like minerals on the air. Wasn't nothing to dislike about Wyatt, because Wyatt didn't lie good or often. Got on well enough last time he'd been out here but Aaron didn't think Wyatt would remember that any. He fished in his pocket and pulled out a half-carved dog, held it out like payment. Wasn't gonna get paid for the gas-station probably, not til PJ was up and working, so the carvings would have to do.]
Can we go someplace where there's no people? [His own voice was rough from disuse, Aaron didn't do a lot of talking when he had hands and paper or wood or whatever else people needed to communicate with. His stomach gave an agreeable-sounding rumble.]
