Re: [log: antique store - daniel/claire/louis]
Pride. It was an easy weapon to wield. The information gained was nothing new, yet it cemented exactly who they were talking to. "De Plancy has you listed as just another servant of Lucifer. High ranking, of course, but no Prince or General of Hell." Maybe it was the heat that made her so exhausted, so drained. Were she not so focused on Louis and the physical change he showed, she may have been concerned. The back of her gloved hand wiped sweat from her brow, her eyes darting between the two men. What was it the mad initiates had said about the faith spreading? Flesh to flesh? Blood to blood? Why couldn't she think straight? She'd have to remember to tell Daniel after they left, but Claire was certain if that were the case Daniel would have been infected already.
"I know I am small. I only have ten years left. I am but a drop in the ocean. However, I do know one truth: The Lord asks nothing of his creations beyond living as they will. Do not waste your propaganda on me. God speaks constantly. You do not hear Him because you choose not to. He is everywhere. In everything. In everyone. Even you. He is beyond comprehension and at the same time all the simplicity of is. You want his voice? Need you speak with Metatron?" She would have continued, but Claire yawned. ...It took her by surprise, too. She was waiting for some sign to key her in to what she was really talking to, be it demon or magic. The chill in her spine was Daniel, but this thing inside of Louis gave off no signal. At least no signal that she had ever encountered.
Claire would have looked less aghast if someone had actually slapped her. "No more meddling in your affairs?" It was a good thing she'd left the spear at home. "These affairs where people desecrate holy sites? Where people die? Do you think we are just going to stand aside and allow that? Really? I thought you wanted civility?" Her frustration turned into a smirk as Daniel spoke, and she gave the thing in Louis a small shrug of her shoulders, "My friend here has all the time in the world. I don't have that luxury. Make your case. Quickly. You want freed. We want Louis freed. But I cannot allow the incidents that have happened to continue." There was no harm in listening.
