destiny& bro at eddie's carnival
Eddie wasn't someone that had much of a daily schedule. With no one at home, he could devote his whole being to the carnival. If they needed someone to watch the clowns try out their new escape routine, he could be there. If the girls wanted to have a late night meeting about the Do's and Don'ts of the carnival? He could do that, too. Sometimes he didn't even have time to go back to his cabin, he'd just sleep in a cot in his office or find a place among the costumes to crash. At first, he thought it was a sign of being unhappy since he always pictured happiness being more domestic. But, it was a return to his roots, his younger days when the only thing that mattered was doing the job and making it look good.
Still, that didn't mean he wasn't lonely and the absence of Wren giving him advice and being sweet didn't help that. So, if her friend wanted to give the kid brother a day at the carnival? He was happy to help. Thrilled, actually.
When she arrived, it was like the whole carnival knew she was an outsider. There was a proficiency to the place, like each clown, dancer and acrobat had something to do and somewhere to be. They liked being busily creative, just like their leader. One of the dancers (young, hair pinned like it was the 50's and in the stage between too skinny and a healthy weight) stopped to greet Destiny and Wyatt. She asked who they were there to see and then took them over to Eddie's office. The dancer knocked on the door, smiled at the two and then cartwheeled away like she prefered it over walking.
Moments later, and the door opened. Eddie was dressed as dapper as one could be in the heat in a white button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up and jeans that looked too expensive for Repose. He was short, despite the big personality and he smiled like he was genuinely happy to meet Destiny and Wyatt instead of simply doing them a favor.
"Ah, hello!" He held his hand up as if to say one moment before checking one last thing on his desk and then came back out, shutting the door behind them. "I'm glad you could make it. Now, mister Wyatt, what did you want to see first today?"
