Re: Eddie's House: May / Eddie
Most of the time, it didn't matter that May was a stomper. Most of the time, she wasn't mixed in with the larger parts of society - only what it took to do business and keep herself supported. The rest of the time, she slid through unnoticed, the attention slipping off of her like rain off a polished surface. She definitely wouldn't have been able to move through Eddie's old life, even if she would've found herself in the city long enough for that. No, there was a reason that she kept to a small house outside of a small town, and that reason had to do with the fact that she wondered (more and more lately) if humanity was slipping away from her and leaving something else behind.
But not quite yet. For now, she was still able to sit with tea and have a conversation with someone.
The snort she gave at Eddie calling her 'lass' was rough and a little rude. She hadn't been 'lass' in a very long time. She only gave it a shake of her head though. And a thoughtful sip of her tea. "Things keep going. Y're never going t' find something the exact same way you left it, and that sets you up for disappointmen'." She drew her gaze back from the trees to look at him. "An' even if y'd find a place that hadn't changed, people change. 'S part of living." Even her.
Somehow, she believed him when he assured her of his own evolution. It didn't meant that there wasn't still cause for concern, but he was right in guessing that she wasn't going to comment on it much more. "Jus' let me know if y're going to. So I can come reclaim my flower." It was stern, a rough thing to say to him. She didn't take it back or soften it at all. But as to seeing something strange...? "Yes."
