Re: Eddie's House: May / Eddie
Eddie took a sip of his tea and gave her a smarmy look like each one of her smiles were secrets. "I'm guessing, to be perfectly honest. Carnies- you see, ah." His tone changed a bit, speaking honestly and a bit like a business owner: "Our jobs revolve around learning how to read people. I need to know what someone wants within the first few minutes of knowing them if I'm going to be entertaining. And, you? You're a carnie's worst nightmare. You like things on your own terms." He said it so warmly, like it was a privilege to have tea with someone that wasn't an easy mark.
Eddie reached for a cookie, dipped it in his tea and took a bite. He crossed his legs and sat there, looking at the forest, wondering if he should have bought a mansion with a view of the lake. The trees were mazes. That was more his style.
"Try harder, eh?" He gave her a sly look, brown eyes bright with mischief and he nodded. "Well, may I have an idea of what sorts of tea you've had before? Have you ever traveled anywhere? Tried the tea in the great beyond? Or do you import?" Eddie cradled his chin on the palm of his hand. Curious looked good on him, like it was his natural state.
