Re: Eddie's House: May / Eddie
"I'm simply asserting that even if the earth thinks I'm young, an earthworm would think I'm very old. A god even." He lifted his finger in the air and closed his eyes as he explained. It was very smarmy and know-it-all annoying. He opened his eyes and winked at her. "If earthworms could think, of course, and didn't have dirt for brains." Eddie shrugged with a roll of his hand in the air, mind drifting off to the concept of floating. He could captain a boat, but those were usually going at high speeds, too.
He visibly didn't believe her when she claimed it was just fertilizer and narrowed his gaze her way. "Magic, obviously, but what and how and why." His voice dipped down low, like he was narrating a dramatic scene and he smirked back at her. Eddie was almost 76% sure May was flirting with him. He'd never accuse her of it out loud but the waggle of eyebrows he gave her seemed to suggest he was encouraging it.
And, as to not cause any more irritation, playful or otherwise, he did as she said. Pushing dirt into the hole and then patting it down lightly. Just as he was about finished his glasses made a gentle beep and he went oh! "Tea is ready. Let me go fetch it?" He pointed to the outdoor table with chairs nearby. "Stay and enjoy the scenery with me for a while, won't you?" He smiled at her, hopeful she didn't have anywhere to be, and then went off to get the tea.
