Re: B&B: Janus, Steve, Atticus
Reluctantly, Janus agreed with Steve's assessment that the conversation was more bicker than productive. He wasn't ever going to say that, of course, but he did agree. He recognized the concern on the captain's face, and assumed it was Steve's general dislike of unnecessary conflict. You had to appreciate that in a man that could and would win any physical fight he needed to. Even with something like Janus, when it came down to it. The demon did not overestimate his abilities, thanks.
Janus thought he had established that he couldn't really help without the deals. Atticus simply had an unrealistic prejudice about deals. Like someone who expected you to fight but had objections to hitting things. When Atticus tried his superior little quotations, Janus turned his back ever so slightly to Steve and gave Atticus a glare. His eyes were full of flames and the red embers of burning souls, and he deliberately showed him exactly what he was, so that Atticus would know where he could shove his proselytizing.
He ignored the key and hefted the box he was already holding higher in his arms as he turned for the stairs. "Nothing in this place is locked anyway." Meaning he would burn the door down if he felt like it. Fuck you, Atticus.
