Re: B&B: Janus, Steve, Atticus
Atticus would have a hard time explaining what motivated him to pull away from the touch to his chin. What motivated him more. The fact that touching him in this house was a terrible idea, or the fact that touching him in a condescending and parenting way made him embarrassed. Either way, it resulted in that shock of cold air when Atticus drew back.
Steve was talking about trusting Janus with books, and Atticus was accustomed to the warmth that Janus emanated. Atticus didn't think he was responsible. Just assumed demons ran hot.
Arms crossed more tightly over his chest, it was probably a good indication of how Atticus had spent his childhood. Guarding. Janus snapped, but Atticus grit his teeth and didn't say what he was thinking. Didn't want to make deals. Didn't understand why Janus couldn't understand that he, Atticus, didn't want supernatural assistance in his life. Not if it could be helped. Had enough of that he didn't get a choice over. "Could just understand that I need to do things my way."
Janus gave Steve a look that Atticus could only somewhat interpret, and Steve tried to make it better by explaining. One hand lifted and Atticus rubbed the back of his beck, head bowed slightly. "Got what we needed. Matt has supplies. Will be staying with PJ and then coming here with her. Thanks."
