Re: log: eddie/steph -- carnival.
[Stephanie brightened when she saw him, and it was clear as day that no matter what kind of anxieties she had, he put her at ease. The scene unfolding before her brought a grin to her face, and in that chaos, she felt strangely at home. The acrobats, the clowns, the dancers. It had a taste of Jersey -- without the violence, of course -- and she missed that life desperately sometimes. The rooftops, the crimefighting, her family not being shattered into pieces. Repose was good for her though. Being away from there was good for her, and she would be happy here. She would tell herself that until she believed it.
Her stomach lurched when she saw his face after her comment, and she immediately whispered an apology. Though she'd gotten better sometimes her little quips got her in trouble. She was mouthy, and she didn't think, and right then, she didn't consider how much of a safe haven this place was for so many people. Herself, included. But, she recovered, and she smiled an apology at the girls surrounding him as well.] I promise I didn't mean that kinda fantasy. [She didn't. Not really. More like this could be a world she'd imagined that he imagined living in. Steph looked down sheepishly before following him to see what he had going on, a jolt of adrenaline back in her spine.] I'm sure it's all amazing.
[She laughed, and then her lips fell into a warm smile.] Oh, this place is going to fucking love that, Eddie. Seriously. That does sound amazing. [She took a sip of her own coffee.] You always put on a spectacle. It's gonna be fantastic. [She hummed.] If you need help with set design or something or anything, I'm so willing to help. [A laugh and a roll of her eyes.] If you can squeeze Elsa in there somewhere, I'm getting the hang of some of this finally.
[After a moment of quiet walking, she bumped her hip into his.] How are you feeling?
