Re: [In-person: PJ and Atticus and Matt] - last one I swear omg
[Matt wasn't used to being 'sniffed,' and he also wasn't too comfortable with anybody in his personal space these days, but he held admirably still when PJ got up close and personal to...inhale him? Was that it? If it helped, then it was worth her doing it.
If it hadn't been for the injuries, he probably would have kept his eyes averted during the change. It seemed like an intimate thing, personal and strangely private, and despite seeing it once before, in fast motion from her injury in the trap, this was different. His eye was on her hand, and then on her paw, watching the bandage and keeping an eye on the wounds. The only moment that really started to nag at him was when she started licking and biting at the bandage. If that went on much longer, he was going to have to get in there.
But then that stopped, so that was good. Was that PJ, or just the wolf shying away from pain? She stuck her nose through the bars, and he held his right hand out for her to sniff. The left arm, held back, gave off a vague stink of heated metal and oil.]
Should be fine until morning if that bandage stays on. [She was bleeding some, but nowhere near enough to worry him. So long as she stayed mostly still, busy worrying the frozen meat, this might just work out alright. Tomorrow was another question, but he was starting to feel confident she'd make it through the night, at least.]
