Re: [In-person: PJ and Atticus and Matt]
[Anything anyone said at this point wouldn't do much more to work PJ up anymore than she was already working herself up. Whether that was adrenaline that was starting to pump through her body as the sun started to set, or just her own emotions ruling the day, she wasn't sure.
She looked at Matt and nodded, and tried to reassure him, and herself as he worked on bandaging her up and doing what he could to prepare her injuries for her change and the night ahead.] We'll do the best we can with what we have, and see what happens in the morning. It will be okay. As for the werewolf things I do know, scratches are okay, I mean - not okay - they might not feel great. But its the bite that's a problem. I don't know if there are bites that are worse than others - when I got mine it was full on awful. But it's better not to test that. Um, [she paused] if I howl, answer it. You don't have to like howl or anything, but as much as we can associate the people here with a pack dynamic the better. I'm not an alpha, I won't be trying to claim the territory with the ruckus. I'll be trying to get some attention. So talk back, or throw me a literal bone. [She smiled slightly.]
[When Atticus came back, after putting on the music, which was turning out to be a good choice, she tried to give him a smile.] Piece of cake. This is my hundred and ninth full moon. [Again, she wasn't sure which of them she was trying to reassure more.] The changing part is a little weird. I don't suddenly just grow ears and a tail, and it's not as seamless as it looks on TV. But it doesn't hurt. [She was going to ask him to come closer so she could rub her face all over him and get his scent as close to her as possible, but she wasn't going to test the waters with his haunts either. She'd been around him enough, and his scent was on the meat. His scent was in the barn, and not just new, they'd hung out in there before.
She didn't know if it would be a piece of cake this time, or if it would hurt, generally there was so much adrenaline in her body she didn't feel a thing except her body shifting. It had at first, but like with any training or muscle memory, she knew how to move with it. She knew how to bend and move her body with the shift. The change was reflexive at this point, she wasn't as good as someone who had been a wolf for much longer, and even they weren't as adept as those who were born with the instinct to do it. But, like yoga, it just took practice.
She leaned forward a little and looked at Matt a bit apologetically.] I need to smell you a little. This is going to get super weird. [She tried to keep it only marginally weird, but thought warning for super weird was the best option as she put her cheek right next to his. She looked over his shoulder at Atticus and rolled her eyes, because she was aware at how ridiculous this all must be. She inhaled deeply, there were familiar scents there, which was a good sign as far as scent memory went. And they didn't evoke fear or concern in her.
They were associated a bit with the pain, but not in such a way that he'd caused it. As her mind wandered she tried to let her wolf take a bit of control of the situation, giving as much space as she could at the animal that she could feel inside of her. It didn't last too long, but probably much longer than any person would enjoy being thoroughly smelled by another person. She tried not to invade too much of his space, which was next to impossible, but she fought the urge to rub her face all over his face, and just focused on getting as much of his scent into her nose as possible, as quickly as possible. She stopped, it was somewhat abrupt, because she had to actually stop herself. She was pretty sure the wolf part of her would have smelled the both of them for as long as she had been given leave to do so, because animals were strange. Even when they were human most of the time.]
You can probably expect more of that if its safe to get close, but hopefully it will be a little easier when there's a four legged creature doing it, rather than some random woman.
