Re: [In-person: PJ and Atticus and Matt]
[All Matt thought when he saw the shiner was that he should have gone for the drugs himself rather than let the soft B&B owner pick and choose on the rough side of town. The two - the pills and the black eye - had clearly come from the same place.]
Yes. [He had every intention of nagging PJ and making his presence felt until she was at 100% again.
His loyalties formed surprisingly quickly, considering his average baseline of suspicion. Secrets helped. PJ the werewolf was an unlikely candidate for a mole, and if Atticus hadn't ratted her out to anyone, neither was he. The people looking for him would keep her on a very short leash of they had her. No one would be running the garage then.
He nodded in response to Atticus' thanks.] Not going anywhere. [That was quiet enough, but firm. He'd never planned on leaving before sunrise, and he'd stay for a while after. She might need re-bandaging, or stitches. He peeled the last of the old gauze away to expose the injury underneath, and assess the state of the damage she'd done the night before.
The hair on the back of his neck stood up while he was coiling the used bandage, and a roll of cold air slid over the back of his hand. He looked up and caught Atticus in the act of snarling under his breath. In a snap, the frigid air rolled beyond them like a wave, and the small room warmed again.
Matt didn't stare. He just took note, for later. They were going to have a long night of sitting around watching PJ, after all.]
Chance. [He shook his head, carefully turning her arm to get better light on the wound.] Don't know how this works. [He glanced up at her.] What happens with a cut? Scrape? Small wound? [So she'd never been this hurt before, but she must have a little knowledge about what might happen.] If your skin stretches. Could make it worse. Could also make it better. [Dry.] Never treated a werewolf. Accounted for changing shape in bandages. Complicated. [He glanced up at Atticus.] Blood loss. Don't know if the change recovers that. If she bleeds in the night. If not, shock. Don't know how her body handles it.
