"It's the cardigan," she said with a playful smile as she fought the urge to hug the woman in front of her at the touch to her shoulder. She leaned into it just slightly. And smiled again, her head tilting slightly to the side.
She closed the door once she was inside the car safe and sound and slid into the driver side quickly, buckling her own belt. "I've lived here five years," she said after a moment and began driving in the direction of the carnival. She knew it well, strange as it may be. But not well enough to have missed her friend. "You?" she asked curiously. It didn't look to Evie like five years had passed on her friend like it had on her. Had it actually not been? Was she crazy? Oh no. Was she even here? Oh dear. The dreams never started like this, and nothing was ever so real as touch in those dreams. Of course everything was fine and normal. And not at all fine and normal all at once.
