Re: quicklog: archie/cat break ins
[Cat might not know much about discovery, but she knew about power. She knew what power did, what the desire for it wrought, and she saw it in the crazy running around his eyes. Ah, obsession, there you were old friend, and those were the people you couldn't trust. However much you liked them? However much you loved them? However much they loved you? Someone with an obsession would always choose that obsession, even if they had to lay you on the line to do it. As for string? Cat preferred getting herself untangled.
He smirked, and she was surprised he had it in him. She had to remind herself that he wasn't any mild-mannered scientist that she knew, and she couldn't let herself fall into that little trap. Silly kitty cat, but she wasn't making fun, of course not. Her chuckle? It was warm and fond, and it was like her purr, not laughing at, not at all- kitty's honor.]
The first one. Let's start there. [She wasn't expecting that mischievous look of his, but it made sense in retrospect. Power, right? Vanity, certainly, and of course he'd want to talk about grand accomplishments.] No one ever managed to get it just right again, did they? [She tucked a claw beneath his chin a moment, just a touch of steel from black gloves, and then he opened the box and shut it again. She looked at the ugly gargoyle, and then she looked back at the box.] Seeing as I like having it all? And red's already over there? I'll go for blue.
