quicklog: archie/cat break ins
[Cat hadn't worn the suit in months.
In truth, she'd considered not wearing it tonight, and she'd ended up having a very long discussion with herself about it, one conducted over a whiskey sour. In the end, caution won out- if you could call it caution. Oh, she knew she wouldn't get in trouble if she was caught. The military guaranteed her that. It was the price for letting them put her back on their leash. Now, that alone didn't make Cat want to behave badly, but it certainly made it easier. She'd been walking the straight and narrow since coming to Repose, and that was all with her eye on the endgame of getting into the facility. Well, now she was in, and no straight and narrow about it. So why not do things her way?
And, so, she did.
She'd heard about Black Laboratories, but she'd been entirely nonplussed until she heard the scientist's first name- Archibald. Well, well, well, now that deserved attention. And Cat didn't question two possible serum leads falling into her lap in one week. She'd lived in Repose long enough to question nothing, and she wasn't big on thinking too deeply about good things that came her way. Well, matters of the heart? Those were an exception, but everything else was fair game.
So, dressed in slinky black, Cat tried on a new mask. Full-head, and it hid her recognizable hair, and pretty goggles that Eddie had made for her in another lifetime. It hid nearly everything, and if it worked for Bruce? Well, what was good for the gander...
Her access to the facility was limitless now, and she changed on the roof, where she stashed her things out of sight in an area where no one patrolled. And then it was child's play getting into that lab. After all, they still hadn't created a place that could keep her in, and they hadn't created a place that could keep her out. And this lab? Was a piece of cake. As for the rumors? Cat wasn't superstitious.
She didn't make a sound coming inside, and while she noticed the man asleep at the desk? It didn't faze her. If he woke up? Well, she could make sure he took another little nap. Silent as emptiness, she looked for a safe, for something that might contain information. But, curious kitty cat that she was, she noticed the crackling red energy behind the protective glass. And it was a shame she was such a burglar at heart, because she immediately wondered what she could get for it.
She approached it, and she wondered if her claws could take out the glass. It was pretty, in a terrible way. The kitty cat still preferred diamonds, but Eddie's underground occultists would probably pay a fortune for it.]
