Re: [Sharon and Cat having a drink or ten]
Cat had spent twenty years as a spy for the U.S. government. She wouldn't call herself a great spy, but she would call herself a great thief, and the two positions shared an amazing number of required skills. And Cat had lost her daughter for years. And even now that she'd gotten her back? She had no idea where the girl had been. All she knew was that Helena remembered a facility, and that Helena was terrified. She didn't think there was anything inadequate about Sharon Carver. She knew that there was something wrong out there, something that took people and tested them. Something that put them back different, and she wouldn't be surprised if Sharon's babies were mixed up in the same kind of mess.
She pushed her glass over to the bartender - to Sharon. "Another?" And she smiled warmly, and she tried to make things lighter. Oh, she knew those children would never be far from Sharon's mind, but Sharon couldn't dwell, she couldn't drown in it, or she'd lose her clarity. And to find those babies? Sharon was going to need clarity. "Tell me about your aunt's greatest love affair. After all? We both deserve a good story tonight, don't you think?"
